MANALAPAN BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION
Hello MBSA family - I hope this message finds you and your family in good health and doing your best to manage through this crisis. I wanted to give a quick follow up to my last message so everyone is up to date and with the same information in hand.
A few things have come into better focus over the past day or two. One is the most recent relief package passed by Congress which includes relief for non-profits and the extension of shutdown through April. It is still our goal and greatest hope that there is Spring baseball/softball before all is said and done, though it might not lay out as we had originally planned. The positive news on the relief package at least helps in the event that we do have to cancel the spring season. Unfortunately, The MBSA has already invested a great deal in non-recoverable funds in the spring season whether through customized uniforms, the overhaul of lafayette mills, or the the preparation to our other playing fields. There is now talk of a 4th relief package in the works. With events unfolding quickly it is difficult to discuss things like potential cancellations and refunds because the ground game keeps changing.
Please know it is our intention to the very best we can by our loyal members. In order to accomplish that goal we ask you to be patient with us as we gather information and allow things to unfold. We are asking thus that any questions or requests for refunds be put off until a final decision has been made as to the status of the season.
With that said, some have lost their jobs, been laid off, or furloughed. We do want to contribute to any family's hardship. If you find yourself in dire financial straits due to a crisis related layoff, please reach out to me directly and we'll figure out together the best way to proceed. The more certainty we have about everything the greater flexibility we will have and the only thing that will get us there is time. Thank you for your continued patience, be safe, healthy, and keep focused on our getting back out on the diamond and putting this period behind us.
